Riccardo Guido

I am a multimedia producer with 10 years of experience working in London.

I have worked for diverse national and international organisations such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), London School of Economics, Japan Foundation, Instituto Cervantes (Spanish cultural institute), the Coalition of Latin Americans in the UK (CLAUK) and homelessness charities SHP and Crisis.

My employment history has given the opportunity to work within teams of people from many different socio-cultural backgrounds, varied work cultures, and distinct target audiences. These diverse environments greatly helped me to develop excellent interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and to have an open minded approach towards new projects and challenges.

During the past three years I have been involved in the education sector designing and producing content to engage primary and secondary school students with humanitarian and environmental issues such as ensuring quality education for Palestinian refugees in Syria and Gaza, and the impact that ocean acidification and microplastics have on the marine ecosystem.

My interested in the use of technology to tackle social exclusion has led me to a Masters Degree in Global Media & Transnational Communications from Goldsmiths University. My research highlighted the use of the Internet to enhance people opportunities and promote inclusion.

I am passionate about social change, I have worked with ethnic minorities, long-term jobseekers, vulnerable young adults, homeless and refugees. I believe that my involvement in the charity sector throughout the years and within different areas of the Human Rights movement demonstrates my commitment to social justice.
